Isolation

Principe-de-l’essai-d’Isolement

Principle of the isolation test

  • Principle Similar to the high voltage test
  • Voltage generally used: 500 V DC
  • Resistance must be greater than 2 MΩ or 5 MΩ according to standards
  • Not normally required in routine testing, but rather in type testing
  • This test can also be performed in superposition (hot high voltage) – Same as high voltage
  • Automatic discharge of the product being tested is mandatory given that the test is performed in DC
