Principle of the isolation test
- Principle Similar to the high voltage test
- Voltage generally used: 500 V DC
- Resistance must be greater than 2 MΩ or 5 MΩ according to standards
- Not normally required in routine testing, but rather in type testing
- This test can also be performed in superposition (hot high voltage) – Same as high voltage
- Automatic discharge of the product being tested is mandatory given that the test is performed in DC
